President
Derek Ferguson, FSA, MAAA is a founding member of the Genesis group of companies. He has over 30 years of experience primarily in fixed indexed annuity product development. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Toronto in 1985. In his role as President he leads the Genesis group of companies focusing on the research and development of retirement financial products.

John Rose
Principal Actuary
John Rose, FSA, MAAA is a founding member of the Genesis group of companies. He has over 35 years of experience with both annuities and life insurance. John earned his Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University in 1982. In his role at Genesis, John provides expertise on all aspects of the product life cycle for indexed products.

Brent Hoeppner, FSA, MAAA has over 20 years of broad experience across the life insurance industry. Brent earned his Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Actuarial and Management Science from the University of Manitoba in 1995. In his role at Genesis, Brent focuses on developing innovative retirement products.

Mark Waldman
Director of Product Development
Mark Waldman has over 35 years of diverse actuarial and product experience. Mark graduated from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics. He holds a Certificate in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Mark works closely with clients to customize Genesis products for their specific target markets and distribution channels, and to help with the implementation and successful launch of client products and strategies.

Chad Onstot, FSA, MAAA has over 15 years of annuity product development and consulting experience. Chad graduated at the top of his class from Simpson College in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. In his role at Genesis, Chad focuses on the development and marketing of our innovative retirement products.
